The duration of study for the award of the Diploma of Postgraduate Studies is three (3) academic semesters, which includes the time for the preparation and submission of a thesis for examination. Courses are completed within the first two academic semesters, while the thesis is completed in the third semester.
At the request of the student, the Assembly may allow the extension of the maximum time for the completion by up to one (1) semester in addition to the three (3) semesters of the normal duration for the preparation of the thesis.
A cycle of study of the MSc may begin in the winter or spring semester.
The maximum time allowed for the completion of studies is set at four (4) academic semesters.
Part-time attendance
Postgraduate students who work at least 20 hours per week and present a relevant employment contract or an employer’s certificate may be enrolled as part-time students, following their application approved by the Assembly. Part-time students shall be entitled to twice as much time for the completion of their studies and the award of the postgraduate diploma. Partial attendance is also provided for non-working students who are unable to meet the requirements of full-time study (decided by the Departmental Assembly, e.g. for health, family, military service, reasons of force majeure, etc.). Please note that the duration of part-time study cannot exceed twice the normal duration of study, i.e. six (6) academic semesters.
Temporary Suspension of Studies
At the request of the student, the Assembly may grant permission for temporary suspension of studies, which may not exceed two (2) consecutive academic semesters. The semesters of student suspension shall not count towards the maximum period of study.
