Christos Gogos (1971) is a graduate of the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the Polytechnic School of the University of Patras where he was admitted with national examinations in 1988. He received his diploma in Computer & Informatics Engineering in 1993 and then worked as a designer, information systems analyst in companies in Athens. In 1998 he received a master’s degree from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in the field of “High Performance Algorithms”. In 2009 he was awarded a PhD by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Patras for his dissertation entitled “Combinatorial optimization algorithms with emphasis on metaherhetorical techniques”. He is a Professor at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, School of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Ioannina. He was a faculty member of the Department of Informatics Engineering of the TEI of Epirus from March 2015 to October 2018, a faculty member of the Department of Accounting and Finance of the TEI of Epirus from January 2004 to March 2015. He has extensive teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He has published more than 40 papers in international scientific journals and conferences and has received a significant number of citations. He has participated in a large number of research projects. His research interests include: algorithms, optimization, scheduling, operational research, software engineering, high-performance computing, and computational intelligence.

Dr. Georgios Keramidas holds a PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Patras. He is active in research in the wider area of computer architecture with an emphasis on the design of low-power memory systems, VLIW, multithreaded and multicore architectures, network processors and vector graphics processors and computer systems power consumption modeling methodologies. He has published more than 35 papers in prestigious international conferences and journals. Also, Mr. Keramidas is the holder of a patent and two other patents that are in the process of being evaluated. Since 2005, Mr. Keramidas has participated in several European projects funded by the European Union and more than three national projects. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), a member of the IEEE organization and a member of the HiPEAC network of excellence.

Petros Th. Lampsas is a Professor at the Department of Digital Systems of the Univ. of Thessaly. He graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras in 1994, while he received his PhD from the same department in 2001. Prof. Lampsas has participated in European programs (STRIDE, EUROFORM, FP5-IST and FP7-ICT) as well as in co-financed programs by the Greek State and the EU (EPEAEK I & II, Information Society, Cooperation). He was an executive of the Networks and Telematics Office and the Public Information Technology Projects Sector of CTI (1996-2001). He was a lecturer at the Department of Computer Engineering, Telecommunications and Networks from 2001 to 2006 and at the Department of Informatics of the University of Thessaly from 2013 to 2016. He has published a large number of technical articles in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. His research interests include Online Computing, Distributed Systems and Network Collaborative Learning Environments. He was a Scientific Associate of the Institute of Research and Technology of Thessaly (I.E.TE.TH./E.K.E.T.A.). From 1/9/2016 to 29/1/2019 he was Rector of the TEI of Central Greece.

Dr. Perikos Isidoros, ITYE-DIOPHANTOS

Dr. Isidoros Perikos holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics, a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Technology and a PhD in the field of Artificial Intelligence from the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics of the University of Patras. His primary research interests include artificial intelligence, data mining, natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning. He has published over 100 articles in international conferences and journals. He is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Patras and a research associate at the Institute of Computer Technology and Diophantus Publications where he works in various European, research and development projects. He is also an Associate Teaching Staff at the Hellenic Open University. Finally, he is a member of IEEE, ACM, the Hellenic Society of Artificial Intelligence and the Technical Chamber of Greece.

Dr. Louvros is a Wireless Telecommunications Optimization Engineer and R&D Researcher with a strong industrial and academic background in wireless networks. He demonstrates strong and in-depth skills in optimizing and designing 4G/5G and recently 6G technologies, and brings strong experience in 3GPP/ETSI RAN specifications as a 3GPP RAN WG3 representative and partner, specialized in RAN1 modulation schemes and RAN2 L3 signaling analysis and multi-level optimization with a focus on MAC developer performance.

He is currently working with the Jio Platforms R&D team in Europe, leading an engineering team at the newly established (2021) Jio Estonia office for active participation in ETSI/3GPP RAN1-4 as well as 5G NSA and SA and 6G research projects. He is also familiar with and related to intellectual property both from the perspective of patent examination (previous EPO patent examiner) and from the perspective of patent writing and contribution.

He has demonstrated strong and long-term industrial and academic experience in all mobile technologies since 1996, participating in global RAN and System Architect projects, including project management, engineering consulting, and leading strategies for the design and optimization of RAN operator networks.

Dr. Pintelas Emmanuel

Emmanuel Pintelas is a researcher in the field of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, specializing in Computer Vision, Deep Learning and explainable/interpretable Machine Learning. He holds a PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science (2023), while he also holds a M.Sc. in Intelligent Information Systems and Communications (2022), as well as a diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering.

His research work focuses on time-series forecasting, deepfakes detection, medical image analysis & AI-based disease detection, few-shot/meta learning, object detection, as well as machine learning theory.

He has published extensively in international journals and conferences, with papers in leading scientific publications (Q1/Q2). His published work includes 23 articles in journals and 7 in conferences, with more than 2,400 citations, h-index 19 and i10-index 26 (Google Scholar). It has also been distinguished in international machine learning competitions (e.g. NeurIPS Competition Track, Kaggle).

Dr. Seremeti Lambrini

Dr. Lambrini Seremeti is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Regional and Economic Development of the Agricultural University of Athens. Her teaching experience in Higher Education Institutions, since 2005, concerns subjects such as expert systems, artificial intelligence, semantic web, business administration, programming languages, calculus, algebra, statistics, differential equations, research methodology, informatics in education. She has also served as a teacher of Informatics and Mathematics of Special Education in Primary and Secondary Schools, since 2001. Dr. Seremeti holds a PhD in Computer Science with a focus on knowledge dissemination in networks of aligned ontologies from the Hellenic Open University, a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Rome, a Master’s Degree in Theoretical Mathematics from the University of Patras, a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Patras, a BSc in Informatics from the University of Western Greece and a BSc in Law from the University of Nicosia. She has also participated as a researcher in research projects, in which her duties concerned mathematical modeling, data processing, representation and management of knowledge and conceptualization of heterogeneous environments (socio-economic, educational, biomedical, intelligent environments). Dr. Seremeti has published her research work in international peer-reviewed journals (14 articles) and book chapters (5 articles) and has presented her work at international peer-reviewed conferences (30 articles). Her research interests focus on theories applied to inclusive education, the interpretation of the Law in intelligent environment environments, the representation and management of knowledge in heterogeneous environments.

Dr. Kyriakos Stefanidis holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the field of network security and a Diploma in Computer Engineering. He is currently a senior researcher at I.S.I. – Institute of Industrial Systems, E.K. ATHENS in Patras, Greece. Prior to joining I.S.I. he was a researcher at Fraunhofer FOKUS in Berlin, Germany and an Enterprise Systems Architect at Intrasoft International in Luxembourg. He was also an assistant professor at the Hellenic Open University and the University of Patras. He has 16 years of experience in research and development projects in the fields of secure networked systems, industrial system security, network security, intrusion detection systems, and identity management. He is the author and co-author of ~30 publications in international journals, conferences and book chapters. He has participated in 9 European and national research projects as a researcher. He has also been involved in more than 10 development projects in the private sector mainly in the field of secure business systems with the roles of software developer, systems architect and technical project manager.

Vassilios D. Tsakanikas holds a PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Univ. Peloponnese and was born in Agrinio in 1983. He graduated from the 1st Lyceum of Agrinio in 2000. He received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2005 from the National Technical University of Athens. In his thesis he conducted a modeling and analysis of the interaction between a telephone terminal device and the users’ heads, using the numerical method F.D.T.D. (Finite Difference Time Domain). He received his Master’s degree from the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business in 2007. In his Master’s thesis he dealt with the modeling of the network service M.B.M.S. (Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service), proposing algorithms to improve its performance. He has worked as a software engineer and as a technical manager in various research projects, funded by Greece and the European Union, such as: ARTreat (FP7-224297), POCEMON (FP7-ICT-2007-216088) and NEOMARK (FP7-2007-2.5.3-ICT-224483). From 2010 until today he worked as a Laboratory Associate of the TEI of Western Greece and a lecturer at the Univ. Peloponnese. His research interests are mainly signal processing and analysis as well as telecommunication networks. He has been a member of the IEEE and the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2006.

Dr. Faliagka Evanthia

Mrs. Faliagka holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the Univ. Patras in the subject “Knowledge Mining on the World Wide Web and Applications in Recommendation Systems” which is necessary in general in the Postgraduate Program and in particular in the course Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems in which it participates. In particular, her research areas include Machine Learning, Data mining, Sentiment Analysis, SVMs, E-recruitment, Recommendation Systems, Web Engineering, Databases and Internet Technologies and Applications, the combination of which is very important for many applications of Intelligent Cyber Physical Systems. He has published more than 50 articles and received more than 1080 citations.
